FAQ

The questions I get asked most.

Cost, timelines, ownership, leaving, hosting and support: everything clients ask before we start.

Pricing & Timeline

Custom-coded websites start from $1,000 AUD for up to 3 pages. That's the founding-client rate (20% off the standard $1,250) and it runs until 31 December 2026. Extra pages are $150 each, and features like a CMS dashboard ($350) are priced separately. You get a fixed quote before any work starts.

The founding-client discount ends and the standard starting price of $1,250 applies. Add-on and extra-page prices stay the same.

No. You see a working, clickable preview of your homepage first. You only pay once you've approved it, and most projects are pay-on-delivery.

Your working preview is ready in about 7 business days (up to 14 for larger builds). Once you approve it and send your content, the full site launches within 7 business days. The biggest variable is usually how quickly the content comes through.

Nothing upfront beyond a short description of your business. I build the preview from that, using photography that suits your industry. When you want to go ahead, you send your real photos, copy and branding, and I put them in before launch.

Wix costs little to start but is a subscription for as long as the site exists, and you can't take the site with you if you leave. A custom site costs more upfront (from $1,000), then only hosting and your domain, and you own the code outright. Over a few years the totals are often closer than people expect.

Yes. Every site is built phone-first and tested on real devices and browsers.

The SEO foundations are included in every build: fast loading, clean page structure, page titles and descriptions, structured data and a sitemap. Ongoing SEO campaigns and marketing are quoted separately.

Ownership & Leaving

Yes. The code, design and content are yours. It isn’t tied to a platform or a contract, so you can host it anywhere or hand it to another developer.

You do. Your domain should be registered to your business, and when I set one up or move it for you, it’s registered in your business’s name.

You can, at any time. Website Management is month to month with 7 days' notice, and when you leave I hand over the code, hosting and every login so you can manage it yourself or move to someone else.

Yes. Even when I manage hosting and services for you, your website and data remain yours, and you can have access whenever you ask.

Absolutely. Some clients prefer a full handover, others choose Website Management. You can switch between the two if your needs change.

Website Management

Yes. Website Management is an optional monthly plan: I look after hosting, monitoring, updates and performance, so your site is handled for you.

$95 AUD per month, billed monthly. No lock-in; cancel with 7 days' notice.

No setup fee if you add it when your site launches. If you add it later, there's a one-off $250 setup fee to cover moving hosting, monitoring and analytics onto my systems.

Hosting and deployment, uptime and security monitoring, ongoing performance tuning, Google Analytics run and reviewed for you, a short monthly performance summary, one small content update a month, and replies within 1 business day. When I move to better hosting or tooling, your site moves with it at no extra cost.

On Website Management, yes: I run Google Analytics for you and report on it each month. If you manage your own site, Google Analytics setup is a $100 one-off add-on.

Minor text or image changes that don’t involve new design, layout or development work. You get one a month; larger changes are quoted separately.

New features, new pages, major design changes, content writing, SEO campaigns and marketing. These are quoted separately if you need them.

Support & Changes

Yes. Website Management includes one small update a month. Larger updates, or changes for sites not on Website Management, are quoted separately.

Within 1 business day, often sooner, for new enquiries and for Website Management clients.

For managed sites, uptime and performance are monitored, so problems are picked up and fixed as soon as they’re detected.

Reports & Analytics

Yes. On Website Management you get a short monthly summary of how the site is being used and how it’s performing.

Visitor numbers and trends, page activity, traffic and request volume, bandwidth use and general performance notes. The focus is clear insights, not raw data.

Direct access isn’t always practical, because analytics is managed centrally. I can send clear summaries, screenshots or exports of anything you need, whenever you ask.
