Switching platforms
Moving from Wix to a website you own.
“Wix was fine to get started, but now it’s slow, I’m paying every month, and I can’t make it do what I want.”
What I hear from business owners
Why it happens
Why businesses outgrow Wix
Wix is built to be easy to start, and it is. But you rent the site: it can’t be exported and hosted elsewhere, so leaving means rebuilding. Wix sites also carry a lot of code you didn’t ask for, which makes them heavier on a phone than a site built for one business.
There’s nothing wrong with Wix for a hobby or a first site. Once the website is how customers find you, owning it and having it load fast starts to matter more than drag-and-drop.
What I do
How I fix it.

- 01
Copy across what works
Your text, images and page structure come with you, cleaned up as we go.
- 02
Rebuild it properly
Hand-coded, phone-first and fast, with your branding.
- 03
Keep your Google rankings
Every old Wix page address is redirected to its new page, so links and rankings carry over.
- 04
Move the domain
Your domain moves to hosting you control, and you can cancel the Wix plan.
